BAILE DO SURURU SPECIAL GUEST SEAMUS BLAKE | LIVE

Brazilian Music - Basel

Bar: 17:00-01:00

Band starts: 21h (2 sets)
Entrance: 15 CHF

"Baile do Sururu" was founded in Basel with the idea of playing Brazilian music with arrangements that emphasize the "groove".
The repertoire includes classical composers such as Djavan, Tania Maria, Edu Lobo and João Nogueira.
The "baile" will take place monthly at Schall und Rauch (Rheingasse 27, 4058 Basel).
Sururu is a mollusk widely used in Brazilian northeastern cuisine, more specifically in Alagoas, Djavan's home state, which is the highlight of the repertoire.
The name Sururu comes from the Tupi language, of the indigenous Brazilian people.
The group is formed by Fabio Gouvea (bass), Fernando Brox (flute), Joyce Bastos (vocals), Leandro Irarragorri (pianist), Oliver Pellet (guitar) and Paulo Almeida (drums) and the super guest Seamus Blake.
